What You Will Do
· As the Solution Proposal Leader, you will lead the China pre-sales engineering team to drive the GCOE (Global Center of Excellence) initiative and own the pre-engineering deliverables in support of the sales organization. This role is pivotal in shaping custom solutions that align with customer needs, Johnson Controls’ capabilities, and commercial priorities.
· You will serve as the key functional expert on JCI’s offerings and orchestrate a cross-functional team of subject matter experts, development engineers, and strategic partners to deliver high-quality, cost-effective proposals with clarity on scope, timeline, and value.
How You Will Do It
· Lead and develop the China pre-sales engineering team to support solution development and sales enablement.
· Drive execution of the GCOE strategy across China, ensuring alignment with global standards and local customer needs.
· Collaborate with sales teams to analyze customer requirements and co-create winning solutions.
· Lead the development of technical proposals, including design concepts, solution architecture, cost estimates, and delivery timelines.
· Engage cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, operations, and external partners, to ensure feasible, scalable solutions.
· Review and approve technical deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, and competitiveness.
· Act as the regional champion for solution innovation, pre-sales process enhancement, and customer-centric design.
· Interface to products (GP) team as it applies to product discounts…etc.
· To be the bridge between GCOE, Sales Network and Life cycle solutions business by providing timely feedback on commercialization of products and services
What We Look For
· University degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 8 years of experience in pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical proposal development in BMS (building management system) environment.
· Proven experience in leading technical teams and delivering complex, custom-engineered solutions.
· Deep understanding of building technologies, systems integration, and JCI’s portfolio (preferred).
· Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Proficiency in English language will be added advantage
· Strong working experience on PLC, SCADA or DCS systems
· Strategic thinking and customer-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in a global matrix organization.
· Familiarity with project costing, value engineering, and bid strategy.
· Proficiency in English and Mandarin (both spoken and written).
